Campaign 11: Maternal and Child Healthcare
IN COLLABORATION WITH SNEHA NGO -

This campaign supports mothers, newborns and young children living in the informal settlements of Bhiwandi, where families face poverty, malnutrition, unsafe pregnancies and limited access to healthcare. Many women give birth without medical support, children miss life-saving immunisations, and illnesses such as tuberculosis and diabetes often go untreated. Survivors of violence, particularly women and girls, are left without protection or counselling, making daily life even more difficult.

In partnership with SNEHA, this programme is creating a community-based model of care that will reach ten thousand households and more than sixty thousand people. The initiative ensures safe prenatal and postnatal care, immunisation and nutrition for children under six, reproductive health services for women, screening and referral for tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases, and counselling for survivors of violence. Alongside direct services, over three hundred community volunteers and thirty-two government frontline workers are being trained to strengthen the public health system and sustain these changes.

By the end of 2025–2026, the programme aims to improve the health of mothers and children, reduce preventable illnesses, and build stronger community structures for protection and support. This ongoing effort is designed not only to meet urgent needs but also to create lasting change, giving families in Bhiwandi the chance to grow, thrive and look toward a healthier future.
